But if you find yourself needing a stand, you would first need to know if the hammock that you have are equipped with "spreader bars" or not.

Different Kinds of Hammock Stands

There are two categories of hammocks as far as stands are concerned. The first would be the ones with spreader bars and the ones without spreader bars. If you do have spreader bars, then you would need to get a hammock stand. Now if you do not have spreader bars and you would like to have a stand, then you would have to buy a stand, which is specifically designed for hammocks that do not have spreader bars.

The first would be the ones that are made from metal or steel. These kinds of stands are generally the cheapest. And although they are not very elegant or sturdy compared to wooden ones, they are basically the most commonly used of the three kinds of hammock stands. They usually last for a long time and if ever they are damaged or chipped, they can easily be repaired using automotive paint.

Another kind of stand would be the stainless steel versions. These stands would definitely not rust, which makes it ideal for use in environments, which are a bit more wet or have saltwater air. You could also use them at areas in your house where you do not want any rusting metal piece such as your patio or porch.

Lastly, wooden hammock stands are considered the most durable as well as the most stylish choice. Because of this they are priced a bit higher. You can easily buy the stands of wood which are made out of various wood types depending on your needs.
